The episode opens with Max racing another
motorcycle, Max wins, but runs into the Sector police, who bust her taillight
and impound her bike.
Meanwhile, Logan is visited by his ex-wife, Valerie, who has
stopped drinking, and claims that she is apologizing to various people that she
hurt, and wants to make up with Logan.
Max goes to the impound yard, and finally gets the guard that
he has a black Ninja 650 in impound, but it will cost 3,000 to get it out.
Max is gripping to her friends about her bike, and Herbals advice is to let it
roll of, just like he's ignoring and old boyfriend of his wife's who's moved in
with them. Original Cindy's advice is to look in the classifieds for a
used ride. Max says that she doesn't want a used ride, she wants her
bike, but looks thru the paper idly anyway. She notices a number next to
an ad, and gets up and walks out with a disturbed look on her face. She
goes to Logan and shows it to him, and tells him that it is her barcode number,
and that only someone from Manticore would know that number. She is
convinced that it is another of the escaped Manticore children, even though
Logan tried to warn her not to go. She meets Folgalstine who tells her
that another person from Manticore is in Seattle, and he has more info for
15,000.
The next day, Normal fires Herbal for smoking marijuana in
the bathroom. Normal hires a guy named Sam who was around looking for work
and sucking up to Normal.
Max comes looking for Logan to tell him what she found out,
and to see if he can loan her some money, but he is out with shopping with
Valerie. Valerie is asking for money, and Max shows up and asks for money
to pay off Folgalstine for the extra money, but Logan thinks it's too dangerous,
and won't pay Max to get herself killed.
Sketchy is talking to Herbal Thought, who is lamenting that
his wife wants to be with this Winston who is staying with them. Sketchy
tells him that he should kick Winston's freeloading butt out the door, but
Herbal says that he will just let it go, and trust the most high to work out the
situation.
