The episode starts out with Max buying more
triptophan, and she is informed that it's getting hard to find. Next, she
is at Logan's, where he makes her dinner, and she is having particularly bad seizures,
and spends the night on the couch.
The next day back at Max's apartment, Walter has come to
collect, and Kendra can't find the money, Max shows up then and says that she
took the money, and would have the money the next morning. To get the
money, Max steals a truck from some gangsters and sells it to a cop shop.
When she gets back, she finds out that Kendra and Original
Cindy have flushed her triptophan down the toilet, thinking that she is hooked
on it. Max tries to buy more, but her usual source is out, so she is
forced to steal some from a hospital, but has a seizure at the wrong time and
lands in jail.
Since Max is in jail, she can't collect the money for the
truck from the chop shop, so Walter reports the squatters, and everyone is
thrown out of the building.
Max befriends a guy named Break who manages to get Max some
milk, which contains triptophan, ends up landing in the Wardens house after she
fails an escape attempt. Meanwhile, Logan and Original Cindy are trying to
track her down before Lydecker, who has also learned of her current whereabouts,
can get to her. Logan manages to find where Max is, and arranges to get
Original Cindy, with some triptophan, into the jail to find Max.
In the Wardens section, Max finds out that the Warden is abusing
another girl, Maria, who is there on a work assignment. Original Cindy,
with Break's help, manages to get assigned to the Wardens quarters where Max is,
and gets the triptophan to her just in time.
Max, who is feeling guilty about not stopping her old foster
father from abusing her foster sister years ago, beats up the Warden, and she
gets Original Cindy and Maria out, using the Warden to get them out. A few
miles outside the prison, they stop, and the Warden manages to get his gun back,
and starts shooting at Original Cindy and Maria. Meanwhile, Max takes out
a small team that Lydecker sent after her. After she is done with that,
she uses the jeep they were driving to take out the Warden.
Meanwhile, Logan gets rid of all the prison records of Max,
and finds Maria a good home to stay in. Logan has gotten Walter on tape
accepting a bribe from the squatters, and via streaming freedom video, threatens
to expose Walter to his superiors if he doesn't leave them alone. The
episode ends with Max thanking Logan for finding a home for Maria over dinner,
but refusing to join the "Logan Cale defense for widows, children, and
small animals."
