The episode opens with Max sneaking onto a ship, swiping a bag of money, and knocking out the guards.  After she jumps off into the water, shouting and shooting is heard from the bridge of the ship.
After the commercial break, Max is with Original Cindy and Kendra in the local bar, with Max ogling every male in the place.  She is just about to get involved with Erik, a guy that Original Cindy and Kendra agree is a loser, when her pager goes off.
Max is riding on her bike over to Logan's, and in a voiceover, saying that when she was made, they mixed in some feline DNA which, "Makes me an awesome killing machine, and a hoot at parties.  It also means that 3 times a year, I'm climbing the walls looking for some action."
At Logan's, she turns over the money, and asks what he plans to do with it.  Logan says that he is going to give it to the people that wanted to be smuggled out of the country.  He also thanks her for taking out the smugglers who planned to dump them overboard 10 miles out all along.
Max returns to the bar to bring Erik home with her, but he's had one to many, and falls asleep before anything can happen.  The next morning, Max is back to normal, and decides not to tell Erik that nothing happened, since he has different memories about last night.  During the day, Logan has news that he found Hanna, a woman who picked Max up off the road when she escaped from Manticore.  When he brings her a gift of motor oil later that day, a very expensive
commodity in post Pulse America, he hints that he has an Uncle who works for the Sector Police, and can get passes any time he wants.
Max decides to take him with him when she goes to visit Hanna so that she can get past the Sector Police.  When they get to the barrier, Erik admits that his Uncle is just a janitor.  Max goes thru the barrier the hard way, and the end up at Cedro Island, where Hanna is, and Max swims out to the Island leaving Erik panicking on the shore.
Max finds Hanna, and they talk about when they first met, until Hanna admits that Lydecker threatened to kill her if she didn't tell him if Max showed up.  Max gets Hanna out of the house and headed to the shore, with Lydecker close behind.
Meanwhile, Logan pages Max with more information, and Erik
calls him back, and fills him in on the situation.  Logan is able to disrupt communications with Lydeckers squad, allowing Max and Hanna to get to the beach, where Logan arranged for Erik to pick them up in a boat.
Max gets back into Seattle, and Erik "breaks up" with her because he doesn't want to know what she's into, and Max gets sector passes and money for Hanna from Logan.  Hanna asks Max to leave with her, but she says, "I've got someone here who needs me."
